"Like No Udder!"

Specializing in Rare&Exotic Poultry

                                    About Us

Hey y'all!  My name is Kristen Outten and I am The Farm Mama.  My husband, Andy, and I were married in June 2005 and have since been living here at "Hexed Acres Farm" in Stafford, Virginia.  We share our home and land in the country with our ever growing farm baby and foster family.  I started The Farm Mama in 2007 with Andy's endless love, help, and support.  We are a small, home based business specializing in rare, exotic, and heritage breed poultry&fowl, handmade cards&crafts, and homemade goods-such as our apple butter.  As you can tell, with such a unique variety we are truly "Like No Udder!".

We have a unique variety of poultry that has been incubated, hatched, and raised with love here on our farm.  We do not support nor buy from hatcheries and we do our best to breed our birds according to the Standard of Perfection.  Everyone is kept in 10x10' or larger, separate pens to prevent cross breeding. We are very hands on with our birds starting the day they come out of the bator and continue to receive numerous compliments on the friendliness and hardiness of our animals.  The Farm Mama is also a certified Pullorum tester for the state of Virginia and available to do NPIP/exhibition (show) testing.

We strongly encourage backyard chicken raising and hobby farms/gardens.  There is so much more to be gained from doing it yourself and chickens are absolutely delightful to have around.  We are endlessly devoted to caring for and maintaining all of the wonderful blessings God has given to us.  We welcome visitors and enjoy educating our community about our animals as well as the benefits of raising your own.  We are very thankful for the chance to provide an opportunity and experience that is otherwise forgotten in the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

In addition to raising and breeding livestock, we are actively involved in dog rescue with Virginia Paws for Pits.  I serve as the Vice President, as well as a foster/trainer who works on behavioral issues to assist the dogs in becoming more adoptable.  We do everything we can for these pups even if it means we sometimes go without, but we could even more with assistance from thoughtful people like yourself.  Please take a moment to check out our "Foster Wish List" through Amazon.com located HERE.  Monetary donations can be sent through Payal to VirginiaPawsforPits@gmail.com.  Donations are tax-deductible as we are a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.  We greatly appreciate your help and remember-if you can't adopt, foster.  If you can't foster, donate.  If you can't donate, volunteer.  If you can't volunteer, educate.  If you can educated, share.  Every little thing you do helps to save a life!

Thank ewe for taking the time to get to know us =)
